After living numerous places throughout the US and Canada during my hockey career, it is an amazing and unique opportunity to be able to return to my hometown to learn medicine and take part in the care of the community that helped me get to where I am today. I love this community and the natural beauty of the UP and enjoy spending time outside exploring and in Lake Superior when I am not studying. It is my dream, and would be an honor to get the opportunity to return to Marquette some day after my residency training.

Why did you choose MSU College of Human Medicine UP Campus?
I chose the MSU CHM UP Campus because of my interest in rural medicine and the opportunity to have more hands-on learning. I was raised in the U.P. and have experienced the barriers to accessing quality healthcare in a rural area both directly and indirectly, and I hope that by being educated in how to care for patients in a rural setting, I can someday return to the U.P. and address some of those barriers and serve the community that helped shape me into the person I am today. I love the U.P. and Marquette, both its people and its natural beauty, and I’m excited at the prospect of learning medicine in such a wonderful place.
