Welcome to MGHS

Marquette General Hospital, a federally designated Regional Referral Center, is a vital part of Marquette General Health System. We are the regional medical center for Michigan's Upper Peninsula and beyond. Marquette General is the region's Level II Trauma Center as verified by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma, and has been named a 100 Top Cardiovascular Hospital in 2007 as designated by Thomson Healthcare (formerly Solucient). This is the second consecutive year in which Marquette General has earned this recognition.

As a 335-bed specialty care hospital, Marquette General receives patients from throughout Upper Michigan, and provides care in 64 specialties and subspecialties.  Our medical staff of more than 200 doctors work as a team with our 2,900 employees in caring for approximately 12,000 inpatients and more than 350,000 outpatients a year.

Marquette General Hospital's Major Services include the Marquette General Heart Institute, Marquette General Cancer Center, Marquette General Neuroscience Center, Marquette General Rehabilitation Center, Marquette General Behavioral Health Service, Upper Michigan's Level II Trauma Center and the Women's & Children's Center. We also provide the region's premier services in imaging, surgery, and laboratory, and are home to the U.P. Telehealth Network, a leading telehealth network in the nation. Marquette General Health System also includes numerous primary and specialty care physician offices, home health services, and an assisted living facility.

Collaborations with Northern Michigan University have resulted in formation of the Upper Michigan Brain Tumor Center, which is conducting primary research on the formation of brain tumors. As a teaching hospital, Marquette General has numerous affiliations with universities and community colleges throughout the state and the midwest in training medical students, family medicine residents, Pharm.D. pharmacists, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, nurse anesthetists, radiographers, surgical technicians and dietitians.

As a member of the Upper Peninsula Health Care Network, Marquette General Health System works together with the many fine community hospitals throughout the region. With comprehensive, quality care, we rank among the best in the Midwest.
