Weight Loss - Public Seminars
An educational seminar on extreme obesity and surgical options available
for weight reduction is presented every third Monday of the month at 5:30. This seminar is held in conference room 1 of the MGH Education Center located on the third floor of the 1984 building.
Bariatric Surgeon Dr.
Wayne English discusses the types of weight loss surgeries,
focusing on Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. He also discusses who meets
the requirements for surgery, the guidelines patients must follow
before and after surgery, and the lifestyle changes that are necessary
following the surgery.
Members of the multidisciplinary team that works with each person
before and after surgery are present to answer questions. Their
involvement with each patient enhances the likelihood of long-term
success for post-bariatric patients.
Attendance at the Public Seminar is a requirement for Bariatric Surgery.
This program
is FREE.
