Monica is a registered dietitian who provides group and individual nutrition counseling. She works with pre and post bariatric surgery patients, medical weight management clients, and a youth obesity initiative in the region. Monica is certified in Pediatric Weight Management.
Ms. Nelson has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in clinical and administrative dietetics from Northern Michigan (2000). Her internship was conducted at Hurley Medical Center, Flint, MI covering inpatient internal/general medicine, rehab, brain rehab and pediatric floors. She was employed at Hurley Medical Center as a registered dietitian for three years after her internship. She comes to MGH after 1½ years as the diabetes coordinator, registered dietitian, and school nutrition liaison for the Hannahville Indian Community, Wilson, MI.
Kim is a registered dietitian with over 20 years of work experience. She has worked in a wide range of practice areas and interests including community health; medical nutrition therapy; diet counseling in group and individual settings, cholesterol reduction, diabetes, heart, and kidney disease; food service management, hospitals, long-term care, rehabilitation, and correctional facilities, hospice programs, education of other health-care and food service professionals.
She comes to us from Marquette Food Coop where she is the Education and Owner Services Coordinator for the outreach department. Ms. Hantz has a Bachelors degree in Nutrition and Food Science from Michigan State University. Her internship was completed at University of Wisconsin-Madison Hospital and Clinics. She has completed continuing professional education requirements to maintain her registration. She is a member of the American Dietetic Association, the Vegetarian Nutrition Practice group and the Nutrition in Complementary Care Practice group.
