UPHEC was formed in 1974 to coordinate the training of physicians in the UP. Our primary goal is to enhance the quality of life in the UP by providing healthcare career opportunities for our young people and training physicians interested in serving rural and underserved communities.
As the charitable arm of AARP, the AARP Foundation delivers direct community services, education programs and information to improve the experience of aging in America. The National Legal Training Project trains lawyers and other advocates throughout the country in substantive law and advocacy skills to enhance their free and reduced fee services to older Americans. The program’s funding sources include the US Administration on Aging, AARP and private contributions. www.aarp.org
