Please join us Tuesday, June 24, in the Michigan Room at Northern Michigan University’s Don H. Bottom University Center for this day-long training session on alternatives to guardianship, healthcare decision making, assessing mental capacity and contested guardianships.
The training is geared toward healthcare, long-term care, paralegals/legal support professionals, social workers, attorneys and others pursuing careers in healthcare, eldercare law and/or advocacy.
Presenters include: Brad Geller, J.D., Assistant State Long-term Care Ombudsman, Michigan Department of Community Health; Michelle Lanchester, J.D., National Legal Training Project; Susan Wideman, J.D., Wideman Law Center. The training is sponsored by the Upper Peninsula Health Education Corporation (UPHEC) in partnership with the AARP Foundation’s National Legal Training Project and the Upper Peninsula Commission for Area Progress Services, Inc. (UPCAP).
There is a $25, nonrefundable, program fee, which covers lunch and venue expenses. Training materials and presenters are provided by the National Legal Training Project.
