Credentials

Dr. Storms is an Assistant Director of the residency program. She was born and raised in Washington State, receiving her undergraduate degree with honors from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. She received her medical degree from Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri, and she completed a Family Practice Residency at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dr. Storms is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice, a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice and a member of the North Pacific Pediatric Society.

Dr. Storms has practiced in various settings, including a National Health Service Corps migrant health clinic in Walla Walla, Washington, and in private practice clinics in Marinette and Mercer, Wisconsin.

Special interests include women’s and children’s health, preventive medicine, alternative medicine and environmental issues. She and her husband have collaborated on various publications in regard to children’s health issues.

Michelle is married to pediatrician Dr. Robert Van Howe, and they have three children. The entire family loves to cross-country ski, play soccer and participate in Camp Manito-wish YMCA activities. Michelle enjoys ethnic cooking, gardening, reading, yoga, as well as most silent sports. Over the years, she has played the clarinet in local community bands.
