Mary began her public relations and marketing career 1989 with Bell South Cellular. She served as Vice President & General Manager of CellularONE of the U.P. and Northern Wisconsin for several years before launching her own advertising agency, M. Tavernini & Associates, "At Your Service!" Mary joined UPHEC in 2009 to expand public awareness of the organizations' programs and is now responsible for updating the websites, brochures and all other marketing materials.
Mary is implementing a variety of new internal communication tools, capitalizing on new technology, social networks and a great group of medical students, residents, faculty and staff that never seem to mind posing for photos and sharing their stories.
Mary is married to Sgt. Kevin Dowling of the Michigan State Police, and loves being a stepmom to Tara and Patrick Dowling.
