More than 300 students and residents have participated in our programs since UPHEC was formed in 1974.
Our goal has always been training and retaining physicians in Michigan's rural Upper Peninsula. As of January 2007, 86 of the 261 past participants currently practicing were serving UP communities. That's a respectable 34%, with an additional 17% practicing in lower Michigan.
We are proud of the exceptional men and women who choose to live and learn in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. And we are committed to offering them a well-balanced and comprehensive education.
We do our best to follow the careers of our alumni and record where they are practicing. The links below provide a snapshot of where they have gone.
