C Schedules video conference connections and events.
1. Maintains working knowledge of organization's internal room scheduling system.

2. Coordinates events with UPTN telehealth staff and other video conference site coordinators per policy and procedure.

A. Receives requests and arranges room and equipment to meet needs.

B. Communicates with other sites, requestor, and potential audience as appropriate to assure accurate schedule.

C. Follows weekly schedule for events and bridge numbers.

C Assures educational events are promoted.
1. Reviews VCS schedules and announcements for educational events. PRN
2. Identifies events appropriate for local promotion. (This may involve coordination with organization's educational coordinator who identifies needs on an ongoing basis.) PRN

4. Promotes events (or arranges for promotion) utilizing standard organizational practices (Eg: posting, mailings, PA announcements, etc.) PRN
5. Tracks potential attendance to confirm VCS connection or event cancellation. PRN

1. Sets up video conference equipment and peripherals.

A. Video conferencing system.

B. Transmission lines.

D. Other peripherals as needed.

A. Turns equipment on.

B. Operates camera and establishes pre-sets.

C. Dials into connecting site or MCU (bridge)

D. Operates mute button

3. Post UPTN bulletin in video conference room to allow participants access to bridge numbers. PRN
4. Conducts initial trouble shooting when connection is not working properly.

A. Check LCD display to determine if lines are activated.

1. If "down" or "out of service" reboot IMUX or disconnect/reconnect transmission line(s). Redial.

2. If "idle" or "ready", reboot main equipment switch. Redial.

B. Check equipment to assure all cables are connected securely.

C. Reboot main equipment switch. Redial

D. If above does not work, contact MGH telehealth staff for further trouble shooting procedures.

5. Maintains knowledge of Safe Medical Device Act and reports as appropriate. PRN

6. Maintains a safe, comfortable, private, confidential environment for patients and families in accordance with institution's standards. PRN

C Assists in data collection, evaluation, reporting, and performance improvement activities as they apply to telehealth.
1. Uses standardized tools to log and report video conference activity. PRN
2. Uses standardized tools to collect evaluation data. PRN
3. Provides coordination (or assures coordination) of continuing education programs.

A. Records attendance.

B. Registers conference participants.

C. Obtains catering service when appropriate.

D. Assures completion of participant evaluation forms as needed for continuing education requirements.

E. Provides above to MGH Education Services.

F. Distributes contact hour certificates.

6. Provides other data and information on VCS usage as requested for grant related reports and system evaluation. PRN

LCD = Liquid crystal display

MCU = Multi point control unit (bridge)

MGH = Marquette General Hospital

Telehealth = Umbrella term for all applications such as distance learning, clinical, and administrative.

UPTN = Upper Peninsula Telehealth Network

VCS = Video conferencing system
