Collaborative Meetings to Further Telehealth in Michigan Pays off

 

The UPTN has been hosting quarterly state policy meetings in regards to the advancement of telehealth in the state of Michigan. Attendee’s range from elected officials, academic universities, MCRH, AHEC and telehealth networks from across the region. In the March meeting the Michigan Department of Community Health announced Medicaid coverage for telemedicine services effective May 1, 2006.

Bay Cliff Health Camp benefits from broadband technology

A partnership with Marquette General Health System has brought wireless broadband technology to Bay Cliff Health Camp. “This initiative created the infrastructure for enhanced access to medical care for campers and staff, and brought new operational efficiencies beginning with Internet communication and professional development,” states Tim Bennett camp director.
