Luanne accepted her part time duties as the clinical telemedicine coordinator upon the organization’s funding from the Office for the Advancement of Telehealth (OAT), rural telemedicine grant program (September 2000). She has been on staff in the telehealth department since 1995, previously serving as the staff development coordinator. Ms. Skrenes collaborates with UPTN’s OAT funded sites to build the structure and processes for clinical telemedicine services. She works with partners and practitioners to identify and facilitate clinical applications.

 

Prior to serving in her current position, Luanne was the Marquette General Home Health education coordinator. She held the position of nurse manager of Pediatrics and Special Care Nursery units from 1990 to 1994 and the assistant nurse manager of these areas from 1987-1990. She served as chair of Marquette General Hospital’s (MGHS) physician protocol committee from 1991 to 1994. She also assisted in the development and management of MGH’s Specialty Clinics for one year in 1992. Ms. Skrenes obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Northern Michigan University, and her Associates degree in Nursing from Michigan Technological University. She is listed in the Who’s Who of American Nurses.
