Telehealth Technology Provides Patient Continuity Care
While Residents Train in Rural Communities

Randy Card, M.D., at Family Care Doctors in Marquette communicates with Meghana Kasetty, M.D., a second-year resident, doing a rotation off site while maintaining continuity with her patients at Family Care Doctors.

At MGH we are proud of our rural training. Over 90% of our graduates are practicing in federally designated rural areas. To improve resident rural experience we offer rural months at a variety of rural communities. The rural months are enhanced by the resident using telecommunication technology to see continuity patients. The resident stays in the rural community and connect with patients that are at our family practice clinic in Marquette. Utilizing the telehealth technology allows the resident to decrease travel between sites, maintains continuity care, and increases resident and preceptor comfort with the latest technology in patient care.
