Because
Marquette General Hospital is located in a rural area, many community
physicians are incorporated into the Residency Program. These
physicians offer a unique flavor to the program and give residents
the chance to experience real medical practice in an environment
perfectly suited to the family practitioner. The volunteer faculty
represent all specialties and subspecialties necessary to the
Residency Program. The community and residency benefit from a
fine group of well trained physicians.
The program
utilizes the expertise of quarter-time faculty to coordinate
the internal
medicine and pediatrics
curricula.
Through
a cooperative call schedule and precepting duties, the residents
are exposed to the expertise and experience of other board certified
family physicians in private practice.
The presence
of one pediatric and six adult invasive cardiologists,
as well as three cardio-thoracic
surgeons, provides ample opportunity for high quality
rotations in cardiology. The average age of the medical
staff at Marquette
General Hospital is about 43. To find out more about our MGHS
