Outpatient Procedures

 

FamilyCare Doctors, the outpatient home of the Residency Program, offers a wide variety of outpatient procedures for patients. The equipment available in our office, along with faculty expertise, gives residents ample opportunity to develop many procedural skills. Every Friday a faculty physician and a resident are scheduled for a half day of outpatient procedures. This offers an opportunity for residents to get hands-on experience.

 

Several times each year, an entire afternoon is devoted to Procedure Workshops held in the office. Hands-on training with materials, equipment, and faculty guidance results in residents gaining skills directly applicable to daily outpatient care.

 

Procedures offered include:

Osteopathic Manual Medicine

**

Office orthopedics including casting, splinting, and joint injections.

**

Minor surgery using radiofrequency surgery and traditional instruments.

**

No-scalpel and traditional vasectomy methods.

**

Flexible sigmoidoscopy and biopsy.

**

Hemorrhoid treatment including infrared coagulation.

**

Colposcopy and biopsy, LEEP (loop) excisions.

**

Endometrial biopsy.

**

Flexible nasopharyngoscopy.

**

Cardiac exercise stress testing and Holter monitoring.

**

Obstetric nonstress testing.

**

Pulmonary function testing.

**

Full immunizations including international travel immunizations.

**

Tympanometry and screening audiometry.
