Ferris
State University’s
Pharm.D. program is affiliated with Marquette General Health
System offering Ferris pharmacy students the opportunity
to complete part of their experiential training at MGH. The Pharm.D. students
work with residents and providers in the Family Care Doctor’s
Clinic and on the inpatient service at MGH. The students
are part of the multi-disciplinary
team by recommending drug therapy, answering drug information
questions, counseling patients on new and discharge medications,
obtaining medication histories. The students also assist
in managing the Coumadin patients and initiating patients
into the indigent drug program.
As part of the Pharm.D. training, the students provide pharmacological
lectures to the residents and health care providers at MGH.
These lectures are available for CME credit to health care
providers.
Since
the collaboration began, there have been 32 pharmacy students
who have successfully completed the training. If you would
