to use an artificial leg on the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. Using
the latest technology, orthotics and prosthetics are customized
to meet the patient’s needs.

Kotila, Physical Therapist, assists a patient with the Lite
Gait system. The Lite Gait is a specially designed treadmill
and suspension harness that can unweight the legs, provide
rhythmical input and reinforce a coordinated pattern of movement.

Dog Therapy Partnership (UMDTP), visit with a patient on the
Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. Pet partners from the UMDTP
make weekly visits to patients. |

Home Safely
John Vargo,
PT Technician; Brad Jackson, Physical Therapist; and Chris
Kotila, Physical Therapist; practice patient car transfers
at the Main Entrance of Marquette General Hospital. Getting
home safely is part of the education and training patients
and families receive before discharge from the Inpatient Rehab
Unit.
