Fitness assessment and evaluation

Before beginning an exercise program, it's a good idea to have a fitness assessment done. This will establish a fitness baseline for you and help you monitor your progress and improvement throughout your exercise program. A fitness assess will begin with an overview of your lifestyle demands and personal goals. Your session will include a weight-in, flexibility assessment, muscular endurance test and girth measurements.

Functional testing

Kinesio Taping

Kinesio Taping® is a technique that uses an elastic, latex-free tape to re-educate the neuromuscular system, promote lymphatic flow, reduce pain, enhance performance, prevent injury and promote healing time.

Lymphedema treatment

We offer comprehensive treatment of primary and secondary lymphedemas. Treatment options include education in lymphedema precautions, medical compression wrapping/bandaging, lymphedema massage, and instruction in a lymphedema exercise program. We can also assist with recommending an appropriate compression garment.

Metabolic rate testing

When it comes to weight and nutrition management, a one-size-fits-all approach does not work. Metabolism is the rate at which your body burns calories. It's a number that is unique to you. The key to successful weight control starts with knowing how many calories your body needs.

Physical therapy for pregnancy and beyond

Giving birth and raising a family can be one of the most exciting times of your life. During this time, your body is going through many changes. Some of these changes can lead to back or tailbone pain and incontinence. A combination of factors may cause back pain such as an increase in hormones resulting in increased elasticity of the soft tissues of the body (ligaments tendons, and cartilage) as well as changing posture secondary to the growth of the fetus (baby). For each area of concern, a physical therapist can evaluate the problem and design an individualized program of care to improve your function and enable you to manage your symptoms more effectively.
