Ski and Snowshoe for Young Hearts distributes funds to Marquette
County schools
The Annual
Ski and Snowshoe for Young Hearts, held annually in February by
the Marquette General Heart Institute, had a new component this
year. Schools whose students participated in the event received
cash back for the purchase of PE equipment.

Nurse and event organizer Julie Higbie, left, presents checks
to Barbara Buchkoe, physical education instructor at Gwinn Elementary
School, and Toni Hanz, student at Gwinn Middle School. Negaunee
Middle School, Father Marquette, and Marquette Senior High School
also received funds for the purchase of PE equipment. A total
of $600 was divided up among the five schools based on funds raised
by each school.
