Women’s Health Conference
scheduled for Nov. 11
MARQUETTE —Marquette General Health System
will sponsor the 2006 Women’s Health Conference from 8:30
a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11, at Marquette General Hospital’s
Conference Center.
Women today are balancing many life roles. To ensure a lifetime
of good health, women need to invest in themselves. This conference
will provide current information on how women can stay healthy
and enjoy the multiple roles in their lives. This conference is
for health professionals and community members. A diverse group
of health care experts will present on health risk reduction;
treatments related to vascular disease; digestive issues and colon
cancer; osteoporosis; breast cancer; and heart health. At the
conclusion of the conference, health assessments including glucose,
cholesterol, and osteoporosis screening along with blood pressure
checks will be available for participants.
Conference speakers include: MGH Interventional Radiologist, Dr.
Christopher Mehall; Marquette General Digestive Disease Specialist,
Dr. James Surrell; Obstetrician/Gynecologist, Dr. Dee Hubbard
of OB/GYN Associates of Marquette; Medical Oncologist, Dr. Irina
Sachelarie and MGH Emergency Department Assistant Nurse Manager,
Kelly December, RN, MS.
The conference is open to women interested in personal health
information, physicians, nurses and healthcare providers. Interested
participants must pre-register. A $20 registration fee includes
continental breakfast, refreshments, lunch and handouts.
Younkers will also present a fashion show during the luncheon.

The Conference Center is located on College Avenue. Attendees
are asked to enter the hospital through the East Entrance canopy,
