Marquette General Volunteers
hosting auction
to benefit the bloodmobile November 6
MARQUETTE —
The Marquette General Volunteers will host their third annual
auction on Monday November 6 at 7:30 p.m., with proceeds to help
purchase a new bloodmobile for the U.P. Regional Blood Center,
based at Marquette General Hospital.
A preview of the silent and live auction items begins at 7 p.m.
at the Holiday Inn in Marquette, with the live auction beginning
at 7:30. Refreshments will be provided.
A number of themed gift baskets and artwork will be available
on bids. Other donated prizes include a framed Buick Open Flag
signed by professional golfer Tiger Woods; a commemorative Ryder
Cup golf bag; and a cross-stitch piece signed by running back
Ahman Green of the Green Bay Packers.
Last year’s event raised more than $6,000 toward the purchase
of a bloodmobile. The 30-foot bloodmobile will be used in blood
drives throughout the Upper Peninsula, serving 11 community hospitals.
The U.P. Regional Blood Center is based at Marquette General.
