Cardiologist joins Chippewa
Medical Associates
Cardiologist Dr. M. Tariq Vakani has joined Chippewa
Medical Associates and the medical staffs of Marquette General
Hospital and War Memorial Hospital. Dr. Vakani provides full-time
cardiology care at Chippewa Medical, and manages patient care
when needed for patients who are hospitalized.

Specializing in services for patients with all aspects of heart
disease, Dr. Vakani provides diagnosis and treatment of angina
and heart attacks; performs testing including echocardiography
and stress testing.
Dr. Vakani completed his interventional cardiology fellowship
and residency at the University of Toronto Hospital. He was a
clinical cardiologist for the last 13 years at Burlington, Ontario,
Canada, and was a staff cardiologist at Joseph Brandt Memorial
Hospital and Guelph General Hospital. He completed his internal
medicine residencies both at the University of Toronto and in
the United Kingdom. He is actively involved in cardiovascular
research, and is an adjunct professor of cardiology at the University
of Michigan.
