Scott Tuma named Chief Operating Officer for Marquette General Health System Physician Practice Plan

Scott Tuma has been named Chief Operating Officer for the Physician Practice Plan at Marquette General Health System.

His responsibilities encompass the administration of Marquette General Health System’s 24 physician offices with approximately 130 hospital-employed physicians in eleven communities.

Tuma is a Certified Professional Coder, and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix and Bachelor of Science in Management from Northern Michigan University.

He recently served as Chief Operating Officer for the Bell Medical Center and Director of Human Resources for Bell Hospital. He has also held positions as Regional Human Resource Director for United Rentals, and worked in Employee Relations and Labor Relations for Cleveland Cliffs Tilden Mine.

Tuma resides in Marquette with his wife, Jamie, and their two daughters, Lizzie-Mellie and Nic.
Tuma is a co-founder and race director for the “Ore to Shore” mountain bike race and a founding member of the Superiorland Cross Country Ski Club and Youth League. He also served for 10 years on the Marquette County Commission on Aging.
