General hosting cutting edge trauma Conference
Marquette
General Hospital will host a Trauma Conference on Friday, September
22 from
8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the MGHS Conference Center. The course
is co-sponsored by William Beaumont Hospital and MGH.
Featured speaker, Greg Alan Howells, MD, Chief of the Department
of Trauma Surgery at William Beaumont Hospital will speak on topics
such as hypothermia and management of complex pelvic fractures.
Surgeon, John Kosinski, MD, Trauma Department Director at MGH
will serve as course moderator. “This course is an excellent
educational opportunity for physicians, nurses and pre-hospital
providers” Kosinski said.
The conference is designed for physicians, nurses, physician assistants
and other healthcare professionals such as paramedics, EMTs and
first responders who manage the care of trauma patients. CME credit
of up to 7.2 contact hours for physicians and up to 8.7 contact
hours for nurses is available. EMS credits will also be available.
The conference fee of $50 includes registration, a snack, lunch,
refreshment breaks and handouts. Marquette General retirees and
students can attend for half price ($25). Pre-registration is
required.

The Conference Center is located on College Avenue. Attendees
are asked to enter the hospital through the East Entrance canopy,
take the elevator to the third floor, and exit to the right.
