Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) listens to MGHS Emergency Department physician

Department Information System (EDIS) operates at Marquette General.
Stabenow touted
MGHS for its cutting-edge patient services, telemedicine outreach
capabilities and innovative wireless links.
"Marquette
General is leading the way in 'wiring' the U.P. with a network
of medical services," Stabenow said. "They have created
an innovative approach to providing health care to the entire
U.P., and I'm proud to be working with them to build this state-of-the-art
healthcare network."
Stabenow has
introduced legislation - the Health Information Technology Act
- that would promote the expanded use of information technology
in health care.

Stabenow was
in Marquette to tour the hospital, visit the hospital's new Emergency
Department and ExpressCare Walk-In Clinic, and discuss future
plans and needs with hospital officials.
In her fight
to improve health care, Stabenow has helped secure more than $1.155
million for Marquette General in the last four years.
