U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) listens to MGHS Emergency Department physician Dr. Scott Hagle as the latter shows the senator how the new Emergency Department Information System (EDIS) operates at Marquette General.

Stabenow touted MGHS for its cutting-edge patient services, telemedicine outreach capabilities and innovative wireless links.

"Marquette General is leading the way in 'wiring' the U.P. with a network of medical services," Stabenow said. "They have created an innovative approach to providing health care to the entire U.P., and I'm proud to be working with them to build this state-of-the-art healthcare network."

Stabenow has introduced legislation - the Health Information Technology Act - that would promote the expanded use of information technology in health care.
