Ski and Snowshoe for Young Hearts winners recognized
The Third Annual Ski and Snowshoe for Young Hearts fund-raising
event, held on Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Al Quaal Recreational
Facility in Ishpeming, raised
nearly $7,800. Top fund-raising teams included Upper Michigan Cardiovascular
Associates, P.C., Father Marquette Schools and Gwinn Schools. Proceeds from
the event will be used to purchase heart monitors and computers for local
school systems in an effort to educate youth about the
importance of regular exercise
and a healthful diet.
Trophies were
presented to the first- and second-place winners of the various
age divisions; prizes were also awarded to top fund-raisers
and top skiers.
