Ski and Snowshoe For Young Hearts fund-raiser deemed a success
The Fourth Annual Ski
and Snowshoe For Young Hearts fund-raising event, held Feb. 12
at Maple Lanes Archery and Ski Center in Skandia,
raised more than $6,000.
Sponsored by
the Upper Michigan
Heart Institute at Marquette General Health
System, Bell Medical, Upper
Michigan Cardiovascular Associates and Great Lakes Vascular,
the event serves as a fund-raiser to purchase heart monitors
for local
schools in an effort to educate youth about the importance of
regular exercise and a healthy diet.

The top fund-raisers
include, from

Buchkoe (top individual fund-raiser), Matthew Heinrich, 9,
and Nicole Johnson,
6 (not shown). Upper Michigan Cardiovascular Associates was
named the Top Fund-Raising Team, while Marilyn Keefe, not pictured,
won the $150 ski package from Johnson’s. (MGH photo)
