Course meets the requirements for both National Registry Re-registration and State Lecture and Practical requirements

The Marquette General Health System School of Emergency Medical Technology in the University Center at Northern Michigan University will offer a National Registry EMT-Paramedic Refresher course.

The course will be offered on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6 p.m. (EST) to 10 p.m. (EST), from October 23rd and through December 6th. There will be 12 individual sessions that comprise the full Refresher course. The cost of the course will be $100.00 for the 48 credit hour course or $20.00 per nightly session for those who wish to attend individual course sessions.

Videoconferencing at U.P. hospitals may be available based upon course participation and videoconferencing availability.

The School of Emergency Medical Technology provides several levels of education for individuals training to become Emergency Medical Technicians or Paramedics. Upon completion of the curriculum, students test to become certified by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). Paramedics who are registered with the NREMT are required to either complete a 48-credit hour refresher course or complete adequate continuing education classes which meet all of the NREMT requirements. The School of EMT NREMT Paramedic Refresher Course also meets all of Michigan’s mandatory lecture and practical continuing education requirements for State Paramedic and/or Specialist license renewal.

Questions about the School of Emergency Medical Technology’s NREMT-P Refresher course can be directed to 906-225-7590 or 1-800-562-9753, extension 7590.
