MGH Family Medicine Residency Program welcomes
7 new residents, including Marquette and Houghton natives
The Family
Medicine Residency Program, a service of Marquette General
Health System, has selected seven new residents for entry into
the three-year residency program.
The program's purpose is to train family medicine physicians to
become competent in practicing medicine in a rural setting, such
as the Upper Peninsula.
Each year, new residents are selected for admission into the program.
Residents are selected based on certain requirements, such as
dedication to family medicine and primary care, the desire to
treat a wide variety of patients, emphasis in promoting preventative
care and a desire to practice rural medicine.
Since its inception more than 25 years ago, the program has produced
123 graduates, many who continue to practice in the U.P.
The education and backgrounds of this year's incoming residents
are highly diverse and contribute to the desired cultural environment
of the program:

· Emily Godec, MD — Dr. Godec graduated from Michigan
State University in May 2005. Shecompleted her medical school
training at the U.P. Campus in Marquette. A native of Marquette,
she finished her undergraduate education at Northern Michigan
University.

· Chris Dums, MD — Dr. Dums graduated from the Medical
College of Wisconsin in May 2005. He grew up in a small town in
Northern Wisconsin and completed his undergraduate education at
Dartmouth College in New Hampshire.

· Maciej Czechowski, MD — Dr. Czechowski graduated
from Jagiellonian University, one of the oldest universities in
Europe. Dr. Czechowski was born in Poland, but he spent the majority
of his life living in Windsor, Canada. He received his undergraduate
degree from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada.

· Jennifer Dehlin, MD — Dr. Dehlin graduated from
The University of Michigan in June 2005. She was born and raised
in Houghton and completed her undergraduate education at Michigan
Technological University.

· Trang Tran, MD — Dr. Tran graduated from Ross University
in June 2005. She was raised in Vietnam and moved to Kansas City,
Mo., to complete high school and also to attain her undergraduate
degree from Rockhurst University. Prior to coming to Marquette,
she resided in New York City to complete her medical school clinical
clerkships.

· Joel Dank, MD — Dr. Dank graduated from Michigan
State University in May 2005 upon completion of his medical school
training at the U.P. Campus. He was born in Minnesota but moved
to Iron Mountain at a young age. He completed his undergraduate
education at Northern Michigan University.

· Sri Anamandala Logaiah, MD — Dr. Anamandala graduated
from Kilpauk Medical College in India, where she was born and
raised. In June 2005, she completed a year-long Internal Medicine
Residency in Massachusetts. She chose to specialize in family
medicine and thus joins the MGHS Family Medicine Residency as
a second-year resident in September 2005.
