Marquette General appoints Erickson and Bowers to Rampart EMS, Inc.
Marquette General Health System has made two appointments to replace management responsibilities previously covered by the late Venetia Bryers. Bryers co-founded Rampart in 1975, became sole owner in 1979, and incorporated in 1981. Rampart was acquired as a subsidiary of MGHS in 1998 and Bryers remained as CEO until her passing last month.
Peggy M. Erickson, currently the Director of Operations for the MGHS Southern Region, will assume the position of Interim President and Secretary. Erickson has served on the Rampart EMS, Inc. Board of Directors for several years.
Robert P. Bower, 26-year veteran paramedic at Rampart, has been appointed as Interim Operations Supervisor. Bower began his career with Rampart as an EMT by taking an EMT class at Bay de Noc Community College while he was a junior in high school. After high school graduation, he completed the paramedic course and became a full-time paramedic for Rampart.
Rampart EMS, Inc. provides Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance services for Delta County with 28 employees, five ALS transport ambulances and one Medical First Responder ambulance to assist coverage in Bark River Township. In addition, Rampart provides inter-hospital palliative care transports and hospital discharges requiring specialized care.
In announcing the appointments, Dennis Boe, Vice President of Rampart, and Vice President Support Services for MGHS, said, “MGHS along with all the personnel of Rampart EMS, Inc. are committed to continue providing quality emergency healthcare, meeting the highest standards established and maintained by Venetia Bryers.” For more information, please visit www.mgh.org/ems/rampart_ems.html.
