of Radiography students place in Top 3 in state essay competition
Two students in the Marquette General Health System School
of Radiography placed in the Top 3 in a recent Scientific Essay Competition
at the Michigan Society of Radiologic Technologists Annual Educational Meeting
in downstate Midland.

Kelly Koltvedt received second-place honors with her essay
entitled, “The
Diagnosis of Osteoporosis in Post-menopausal Women through DEXA Scanning.” Jessie
Petersen garnered third-place laurels with her essay, “Darkroom Disease.”
According to
School of Radiography Director JoAnna Perucco, the 10-minute
essay must be pertinent to the field of Imaging
and describe a pathology, imaging
modality or new technology.
School of Radiography students participate annually in the Scientific Essay
Competition.
The MGHS School of Radiography is an educational program that offers an opportunity
in the Radiologic Sciences. Upon completion of a two-year program, a graduate
is eligible to complete the American Registry of Radiologic Technology licensure
exam and employment as an entry-level radiographer.
Applications for acceptance into our program are Oct. 1 through Feb. 1, 2005.
