Hand Surgeon joins Marquette
General Medical Staff
Dr. Clayton Peimer, an internationally renowned
orthopaedic hand surgeon, is joining the medical staff of Marquette
General Hospital. His practice will be located in the Orthopaedic
Surgery Associates suite at Peninsula Medical Center in Marquette.
Appointments are now being accepted for September.

Clayton Peimer
Peimer is a clinical and academic expert in traumatic and reconstructive
surgery of the hand, elbow and arm; congenital deformities of
the hand and forearm; arthritic reconstruction, and tumors of
the upper limb. He is also one of the original clinical investigators
to pioneer an endoscopic surgical method for carpal tunnel syndrome
relief.
Author of nearly 200 publications and chapters in peer-reviewed
journals and textbooks, Peimer created and edited the large multi-volume
text, Surgery of the Hand and Upper Extremity. He has held leadership
roles in the major professional societies for hand and musculoskeletal
surgery; has been a guest lecturer throughout the world; and has
served on the medical school faculties of Northwestern University
in Chicago and the State University of New York at Buffalo.
Peimer has more than 25 years of clinical, academic and administrative
experience, and has been cited annually in "Best Doctors
in America" and in "Best Physicians in the United States"
for many years.
He completed his hand surgery fellowship at Massachusetts General
Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston, and his orthopaedic
surgery residency at the State University of New York in Syracuse.
Prior to his surgical internship and residency at Beth Israel
Medical Center in New York City, Peimer earned his medical degree
at the State University of New York, Upstate Medical University
in Syracuse.
Peimer has practiced most recently at Henry Ford Health System
in Detroit, where he served as the Breech Chair of Orthopaedic
Surgery.
