Michigan Parkinson Foundation elects MGH neurologist to its board

Dr.
Christopher Bixler
Neurologist
Dr. Christopher Bixler, a member of Neurology Associates in the
Upper Michigan
Neuroscience Center and on staff at Marquette General Hospital, has been elected to
the Michigan Parkinson Foundation Professional Advisory Board.
In his role, Dr. Bixler is expected to provide insight to the needs
of general neurologists and to people who suffer from Parkinson’s
disease in the Upper Peninsula.
Parkinson’s disease is a chronic, progressive, neurologic
disorder distinguishable by hand tremor, slowness of movements,
limb stiffness and difficulties with
balance. For many individuals, Parkinson's disease is a very slow-progressive
disorder, measured in decades rather than in months or in just a few years.
Dr. Bixler earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin
in Milwaukee, Wis. He completed a residency in neurology at the University
of Washington in Seattle.
Board certified in neurology and electrodiagnostic medicine, Dr. Bixler is
a member of the American Academy of Neurology. He holds an American Board of
Psychiatry and Neurology Certification.
