Nurses hosting benefit walk/run
“Run For the Health of It” set for Saturday, Sept.
24
The Upper
Peninsula Chapter Association of Operating Room (OR) Nurses will
host a “Run For the Health of It” 5-kilometer Run/Walk
and 10-K Run on Saturday, Sept. 24. Race proceeds will support
education assistance for OR Nurses from all over the Upper Peninsula.
The fund-raiser will begin at 9 a.m. at the Presque Isle Pavilion
and finish there. The course will wind around the Presque Isle
and Lake Superior shoreline. Water stations will be available
en route, and volunteers will offer racers time splits.
The entry fee is $12 for Upper Peninsula Road Runners Club (UPRRC)
members, and $15 for non-members. Registration will be held from
8 to 8:50 a.m. the day of the race.
Awards will be presented to the overall male and female winners,
and ribbons will be awarded to the Top 3 age group winners. All
participants will receive official race T-shirts. In addition,
a number of door prizes will be awarded following the race.
Early registration is encouraged. Those interested in competing
