MSHS Health Occupations students Krystina Soucy, second from left, and Jerry Jurecic, right, were presented $150 scholarships to assist them in their studies this fall at Northern Michigan University. Both plan on pursuing careers in nursing.

The funds were raised at the inaugural “Walk For a Nurse” event held on May 8 in Marquette.

The “Walk For a Nurse” event, sponsored by MGHS, the Michigan Center for Nursing, the Michigan Health Council and the Michigan Nurses Association, was designed to recruit potential candidates to the dynamic field of nursing and raise money for a nursing education scholarship.
