MGH, Registered nurses reach contract
Registered nurses at Marquette General Hospital ratified a new three-year contract on Wednesday evening. The contract, which will be presented to the MGHS Board of Trustees for approval, is retroactive to June 1, 2007.
Under the terms of the agreement, no details are being released. The new contract covers more than 400 RNs.
Marquette General CEO Bill Nemacheck said, “I applaud the negotiating teams on behalf of both the Hospital and the MNA. The work they’ve done has been intensive over the past few weeks, and I’m extremely pleased that they have arrived at a consensus that has been ratified by the RNs. Our patients are the primary concern for all involved, and now we can move forward together and continue to provide the caliber of care that our hospital is well known for.”
Approximately 410 registered nurses, represented by the Michigan Nurses Association, are covered by the new agreement.
