MGH hosting 11th Annual Neuroscience Conference
Marquette
General Hospital will serve as site of the 11th Annual Neuroscience
Conference on Friday, June 4.
The conference is designed for primary care physicians, nurses, physician assistants,
nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals who care for neuroscience
patients.
A number of highly trained and well respective neuroscience professionals on
staff at Marquette General will present at the conference, slated to run from
8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Dr.
Debra Morley, a neurologist, will talk on “Chronic Illness & Pain:
The Mind-Body Connection; Dr.
Carl Eiben, a rehabilitation, physical medicine
and pain management specialist, will speak on “Neuropathic Pain Syndromes”;
Dr. Christopher
Bixler, a neurologist, will address “Treatment Updates
in Parkinsonism”; Dr. Kent Koehn, a neuropsychologist, will speak on “A
Therapeutic Approach”; and Sarah Balko, a registered dietician, and Cathy
Ruprecht, a physical therapist, will address “The Pain — Deconditioning — Weight
Gain Cycle.”
Dr. Raj Sheth, an associate professor of neurology who serves as the Director
of the Comprehensive Epilepsy Program at the University of Wisconsin Hospital
and Clinics, will be the guest lecturer at the Adam Brish Neuroscience
Lecture. His topic will be “Special Consideration for the Female
Client with Epilepsy.”
The speakers were selected for their recognized clinical expertise and ability
to provide practical information of immediate value for clinical practice.
The Neuroscience Conference fee of $80 includes registration, snack, lunch,
refreshment breaks and handouts.
The Marquette General Hospital Conference Center is located on the third
floor of the East Building. To access the Conference Center, enter the hospital
through
the East Entrance canopy, take the elevator to the third floor and exit to
the right.
