MGH
offering free memory screenings in January
In January,
Marquette General Health System will offer a series of free memory
screenings designed to raise awareness among older adults and
their caregivers about memory loss and normal aging, and the signs,
symptoms and need for early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease.
The screenings will be held Friday, Jan. 6, at Marquette General;
Friday, Jan. 20, at the Ishpeming Senior Center; and Wednesday,
Jan. 25, at the Negaunee Senior Center. If screening results indicate
a need for further testing, patients will be advised to see their
doctor.
Memory screenings are supported by funds from an Office of Rural
Health Policy grant and a partnership among MGHS, Portage Health
System in Hancock, Keweenaw Memorial Medical Center in Laurium,
and Grand View Health System in Ironwood.
