Support group for adults with heart disease or diabetes at Marquette General

Marquette General Hospital's Adult Diabetes Support Group and the U.P. Heart Club have combined to form “The Link,” an education and support group for adults with heart disease and/or diabetes.

The next Link topic, Family Health History, will be August 22nd at 3pm in conference room one. The Conference Center is located on the third floor of the East Building, with public parking in lot A or the parking deck. Follow the signs to the Conference Center.

Research shows many similarities in risk factors for both diabetes and heart disease, and family health history is one of the most significant risk factors. Prevention or early treatment can help prevent complications of these two chronic long-term diseases.

“The Link” provides health education on the fourth Tuesday of each month. All adults interested in preventing diabetes and heart disease are welcome to attend.

For information about "The Link" please contact Julie Higbie, RN, MSN, at the
Marquette General Heart Institute, 906-225-4749, 1-800-562-9753, extension 4749, or Sarah Balko, RD, director of Diabetes Education, 906-225-3473 or 1-800-562-9753 extension 3473.
