Dr. John Niemela is a Marquette native

podiatrist Dr. John Niemela has joined the medical staff of Marquette
General Hospital.
A Marquette native, Dr. Niemela completed his three-year surgical
residency — with a special interest in foot and ankle trauma
— at Legacy Portland Hospital in Portland, Ore. Legacy Portland
is a Level I Trauma Center.

He received his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine cum lade from
Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Ill.
Dr. Niemela
joins podiatrist Terry
Ranta, DPM, at his practice in Marquette. Dr. Niemela holds
a bachelor’s degree in medical technology from Michigan
State University, and a bachelor’s in biology from Scholl
College of Podiatric Medicine.
Dr. Niemela’s primary professional focus is treatment of
foot and ankle trauma, and comprehensive foot and ankle conditions
from newborns to seniors. He treats orthopedic deformities, such
as bunions, hammertoes, Achilles tendonitis, flat foot, heel pain,
arthritis, warts, ingrown nails, sprains, fractures and sports-related
injuries.
