Dr. Hoenke earns recertification in geriatric medicine
Dr. Fritz Hoenke has successfully completed the American Board of Family Medicine recertification examination for geriatric medicine, which will renew his Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in geriatrics, first earned in 1991.

In addition to his Certificate CAQ in geriatric medicine, Dr. Hoenke is board certified in family medicine and has been certified in addiction medicine.
Dr. Fritz Hoenke serves as vice president and medical director for all physician practices owned and operated by Marquette General Health System. Employed by Marquette General since 1988, his responsibilities encompass approximately 105 physicians and 35 mid-level practitioners in 30 physician offices and practices throughout the Upper Peninsula.
Dr. Hoenke also has clinical responsibilities including office practice at Marquette General Family Medicine in Marquette (formerly FamilyCare Doctors); hospital rounding and hospital call. He is also the assistant director of the Marquette Family Medicine Residency Program, and an assistant clinical professor for the U.P. campus of the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.
A graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Hoenke earned a bachelor’s degree magna cum laude in biology at the University of Cincinnati, where he was inducted into the honor society of Phi Beta Kappa, and earned high college and departmental honors.
