Cole
Anderson, 7, of Sault Ste. Marie recently received a very special
surprise when he visited the Specialty Clinic at Marquette
General Health System. Cole, who has cerebral palsy, was given
a Hedgehog stuffed animal provided by Kohl’s of Marquette.
Thanks to the “Kohl’s Cares for Kids” program,
the Women’s and Children’s Center at MGHS was recently
awarded a $9,675 grant that will be used to purchase equipment
that will enhance the care they provide through inpatient and outpatient
programs.

Kohl’s supports the program through the sale of
selected store items (books and plush toys) four times per year,
with 100 percent of the program’s net sales profits being
donated to the Women’s and Children’s Center at MGHS.
In addition to the sale of store items, Kohl’s donated 66
hedgehogs to the Women’s and Children’s Center. The
animals are being given to children who are receiving care at
the Specialty Clinic.
