Marquette General to host “Healing from Loss” grief conference

Learning how to deal with grief is important for everyone, but many are unsure where to start.

To address the importance of grieving, Marquette General Health System and the Canale Tonella Funeral Home, Inc., will sponsor the 2008 “Healing from Loss” Grief Conference from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, October 24, at the Marquette General Conference Center.

Tom Golden LCSW, author, speaker and psychotherapist, will provide a daylong workshop focusing on men’s grief. Tom’s workshops are known to be informative, entertaining and have a balance of humor and tears. Tom has authored Swallowed by a Snake: The Gift of the Masculine Side of Healing and A Man You Know is Grieving: 12 Ideas for Helping Him Heal From Loss.

The conference is open to interested individuals including medical personnel, clergy, hospice and social workers, behavioral health providers, and law enforcement officers. The conference fee of $50 includes registration, lunch, refreshment breaks and handouts. Marquette General retirees and students can attend for half price.
