Marquette General employee successfully completes Certified in Healthcare Compliance Examination

Charles Flood, compliance officer, and senior director of business analysis and planning for Marquette General Health System, has successfully completed the Certified in Healthcare Compliance Examination, thus earning the “CHC” designation. Flood is one of 1,700 individuals nationwide to earn this professional credential.

Compliance professionals are tasked with assuring that health care providers follow federal, state and local regulations that govern the delivery of health care.

Employed at MGHS since 2007, Flood earned a master of health services administration degree from the University of Michigan, and a bachelor’s degree in applied biology, with distinction, from Ferris State University. Prior to joining MGHS, Flood held consulting and management-level healthcare industry positions and has completed a postgraduate administrative fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital, an 1100-bed academic, research and Level I Trauma hospital in Royal Oak, Mich. Flood is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, currently pursuing fellowship status.

Founded by the Health Care Compliance Association in 1998, the Compliance Certification Board exists to develop criteria for the determination of competence in the practice of health care compliance at a variety of levels and to recognize individuals meeting these criteria.
