Fierstine named Hospital Supervisor at MGH
Registered Nurse Nancy Fierstine has been named a Hospital Supervisor at Marquette General Hospital.
Hospital Supervisors are responsible for operations of the hospital on the evening and night shifts, weekends, and holidays, with support from the administrator on call. Hospital supervisors have many responsibilities including rounds on each nursing unit; responding to emergency “codes”; ensuring appropriate flow of patients being transferred among units or into and out of the hospital; maintaining appropriate staffing levels; and dealing with difficult situations that may occur. Hospital Supervisors also provide support to patients, families, and employees as warranted by each unique circumstance.
Fierstine has been employed at MGHS for the past 24 years. A graduate of the NMU School of Nursing, Fierstine has worked on the Orthopedic Unit and operating room, where she worked as a staff nurse, Assistant Nurse Manager and Nurse Manager.
