medicine physician earns board re-certification
Marquette
General Hospital emergency medicine physician Dr. Scott Emerson
has successfully fulfilled re-certification
requirements of the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM)
and is declared a diplomate of the Board. The 10-year re-certification
is good through Dec. 31, 2014.

Dr. Scott Emerson
Dr. Emerson has practiced emergency medicine at Marquette
General for the past 25 years. He earned his medical degree
from the Louisiana State University
School of Medicine in 1976 and completed post-graduate training at Bronson-Borgess
Hospital in Kalamazoo, both Michigan State University-affiliated hospitals.
In addition, Dr. Emerson completed sub-specialty, post-doctoral training
and exams in Medical Toxicology, which he’s also board certified in. Dr.
Emerson is a consulting medical toxicologist at the Upper Michigan Poison Information
Network and the DeVos Children’s Regional Poison Center in Grand Rapids.
The ABEM is one of 24 medical specialty boards of the American Board of Medical
Specialties (ABMS). Founded in 1976, ABEM develops and administers the Emergency
Medicine certification examination for physicians who have met the ABEM credentialing
requirements.
