For his accomplishment, donor recruiters presented him a cake. “It’s a charitable thing … something I really enjoy doing,” Pair said. “I like helping out other people.”

Pair, 58, has donated blood once every eight weeks for the past 20 years.

The U.P. Regional Blood Center, located on College Avenue in Marquette, is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays.

The U.P. Regional Blood Center also accepts donations in Escanaba, Iron Mountain and Hancock. To schedule an appointment, call 906-225-4610 or 1-800-491-4483 (GIVE).

The blood center conducts a number of monthly mobile blood drives across the Upper Peninsula.
