General hosting Diabetes Conference
Marquette
General Hospital will host a Diabetes Conference on Friday, October
6 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at UpFront and Company.
The conference fee of $90 includes registration, lunch, refreshment
breaks and handouts. Marquette General retirees and students can
attend for half price. Pre-registration is required.
Featured speakers include Pharmacist Barry Bunting, PharmD, who
will speak on Meeting the High Cost of Healthcare through Collaborative
Education and Diabetes
Education; Nurse Carol Manchester, MSN, who will discuss Management
of Hyperglycemia in the Institutional Setting; Health Psychologist
Dr. Gregory Jones who will address Patient Empowerment; and Dietitian
Sherri Rule, RD who will speak on Treating Childhood Obesity.
Diabetes Educator Sarah Balko, RD, CDE, will serve as course moderator.
The conference is designed for physicians, nurses, physician assistants
and other healthcare professionals involved in the management
and care of patients with diabetes. Credit hours are available
for nurses and physicians.
A pre-conference evening program will be held at the Holiday Inn
in Marquette on Thursday, October 5 at 6:30.
