MGH elects its medical staff officers
Orthopaedic surgeon/sports medicine specialist Dr. Ken Davenport
elected Chief of Staff
Dr.
Ken Davenport, a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon and sports
medicine specialist, has been elected Chief
of Staff at Marquette General Hospital. Dr. Davenport replaces
outgoing Chief of Staff Dr.
William Jean, a cardiologist.

Dr. Davenport, previously the Vice Chief of Staff, is excited
about the opportunity to be Chief of Staff.
“It’s quite an honor to be elected Chief of Staff,” said Dr.
Davenport, a partner at Orthopaedic Surgery Associates of Marquette, PC, in the
Peninsula Medical Center. “I look forward to working with my colleagues
to offer high-quality, dependable health care.”
Dr. Deb Morley, a neurologist, is the Vice Chief of Staff while Dr.
George Krzymowski, a board certified anatomic and clinical pathologist, takes over
as secretary/treasurer.
Dr. Davenport has been a physician on staff at Marquette General for more
than 14 years. He completed an internship in general surgery and residency
in orthopaedic
surgery at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. Dr. Davenport earned his medical
degree from the University of Illinois in Chicago and his undergraduate degree
from Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
Dr. Morley is a member of Neurology Associates of Marquette at Marquette
General. Board certified in neurology, she completed a neurology residency
at the University
of Michigan and internal medicine internship at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis,
Ind. She earned her medical degree from Indiana University in Indianapolis
and has an undergraduate degree from Lake Superior State University.
MGH Chief Executive Officer Bill Nemacheck said the physicians chosen by
the medical staff all possess proven leadership qualities.
“We continually have extremely talented and caring physicians volunteer
for these important leadership roles," Nemacheck said. "These physicians
give of their time, effort and expertise to ensure that we all are provided the
highest quality health care."
Each of the medical staff terms expires in December 2006.
