Child Car Safety
KI Sawyer Elementary School second grade student Cassidy Johnson gets “sized-up” for proper child restraint with the assistance of Gary Gustafson, Paramedic/RN and MGHS Injury Prevention coordinator. Booster seats provide the best protection for children who outgrow toddler seats around 4-years-old, but who are still too small for adult seat belts.

Typically at the age of 8-years-old and a height of 4 feet 9 inches, a child can use adult seats belts.
The presentation was part of a monthly safety series at the school and done in conjunction with the MGHS Trauma Department and the UP Child Passenger Safety Coalition.
